Hello everybody. Today is 20090916 and in the last 28 years I have, in approximate order: gone on to higher education, failed miserably at higher education, joined the Army in order to jump out of airplanes, left the Army in disgust (although the jumping out of planes part was good) lived in Europe for half a dozen years (Brussels, Cambridge, Swansea) and traveled all over there and South Africa for a bit, too, helped launch a computer company in the UK, lived in New York for a few years smoking two packs a day and working as a programmer/network engineer (long story), became fed up with utterly crappy boring life in 1996 and w...Expand for more
ent to commercial diving school and finally, finally, found a place I fit in. I have ever since then been a deep sea diver in the oilfields of the Gulf of Mexico. Since being here I have been married, had a daughter, and been divorced. After almost 14 years of diving, I can honestly say I still love it and want to do it at least 14 more. In addition to diving, I also run a website called offshorediver.com and publish Offshore Diver Magazine. I am writing this right now from a dive support vessel about 100 miles south of Galveston Texas where we are working in about 300 feet of water. And that's my story so far... more or less...
